Explore New Skills and Skill Paths - Web

Skills represent specific abilities or areas of knowledge that you're expected to develop—like effective communication, data analysis, or leadership.
Once a skill is part of your learning, you can monitor your progress through Skill Paths tab.
This article explains how to explore new skills and their associated paths so you stay focused and in control of your development.
To view a list of all available skills: Go to Explore section > Popular Skills.

Add Skills

You can add any available skill from the Explore page to personalize your learning experience and start tracking your progress toward specific competencies.
  1. Go to Explore > Popular Skills.
  2. Click View Details on a skill. This will open the Skill Details page. Here, you'll find:  A description of the skill, associated skill paths and courses linked to those skill paths.
  3. Click Add Skill button.
  4. The skill is successfully added and will now be displayed in the Skill Paths tab under your My Learning section.

Add Skill Paths

From the Skill Details page, you can choose to add specific skill paths associated with that skill:
  1. While on the Skill Details page (accessed by clicking "View Details" on a skill).
  2. Select the Explore button next to the specific skill path you wish to add.
  3. Click the Add Skill Path button.
  4. The skill path is added successfully.
Note:
  1. If you add a skill path but haven't added its corresponding "parent" skill,  it will appear under the "Others" tab in your My Learning section, rather than neatly organized under a main skill.
  2. Adding a skill path adds it to your learning plan but does not automatically enroll you in its courses. You’ll need to enroll in the courses manually (see below for free courses).

Enroll Free Courses Within a Skill Path

If a skill path includes courses that are designated as free, you can self-enroll directly from the path's details:
  1. Open the Skill Path Detail Page (by clicking "View Details" on a skill path you've added).
  2. Click Enroll Free Courses button. This will open the Enrollment Confirmation modal.
  3. Click Enroll button to confirm your enrollment.
Note: Once enrolled, these courses will appear under My Learning > Courses.
